Early Advice Sessions

Early Advice sessions are available to book for children living in Bedford Borough or Central Bedfordshire who are pre-school age and younger. Your child must not be known to speech and language therapy already. Unfortunately, Early Advice Sessions are not currently available for children living in Luton.

To request a short 15 minute advice session phone call please complete the early advice contact form below. If you need help completing the form then please phone our Health HUB on 0300 555 0606 and we will happily support you. Once we have received and processed your form you will be sent a link via SMS to book your own appointment. Please note this link stays live for 7 days only. Any issues or if you need the link resending, please contact 0300 555 0606.

Please note that these short appointments are not suitable if your child has difficulties in a wider range of areas than just speech and language for example social interaction, autism, or behaviour. It is likely that a longer appointment will be necessary and that other professional support may also be needed. Please arrange with your health visitor or Early Years setting to complete a speech and language referral. This will ensure that you get the right help for your child.

This form must be completed by someone who has parental responsibility for the child.

There is lots of information about what to expect with your child’s speech and language development and activities to try under our pre-school page.

  • Please include the relationship to the child and their name (and age if a child)
  • i.e. social worker, family worker, paediatrician, early years SEND etc.?
  • Medical history

  • If you have no concerns please leave this area blank
  • CCS permissions and information sharing

We would like to send text (SMS) messages for appointment reminders and to share useful health information. We may offer appointments using video calling; for this we need your current email address. We can leave voice messages from the service on your home/mobile number if you are unavailable. We would like to send your letters or reports by email, which could include personal, sensitive data. If you select yes, we will not send your letters or reports in the post, we will email them to you instead. Once any information has left our secure NHS email accounts, the security of the information is your responsibility.
