Supporting Social Communication in School-Aged Children and Young People

A workshop for staff and parents

Social communication and interaction skills develop in everyday situations throughout the day at home and school. This workshop is suitable for parents and school staff supporting school-aged children and young people (CYP) with social communication needs.

By attending this workshop we hope you will:

  • Develop an understanding of social communication
  • Identify target areas to work on
  • Learn strategies for supporting  social communication skills
  • Develop an understanding of emotional regulation
  • Learn strategies for supporting emotional regulation.

Entry Criteria:

  • You are a parent/carer of a child living in Luton and Bedfordshire or a member of staff working in an education setting in Luton and Bedfordshire.
  • Your child or the child you support:
  1. is 6 years and above
  2. has difficulty interacting and relating to others at home and/or in school
  3. may or may not have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

How to Book

Places are limited to 20 per workshop and a maximum of a maximum of 3 adults per child may attend together

Please note: As of 01.09.22 a penalty fee may be incurred for non-attendance.
